Also yes you knew about the roaming like home since you get texted and emailed it when you cross the border. So yes it is your "fault" no matter if it's a 1 min call or mins. You call a Canadian Number (who's in the U.S.) N Y - as it doesn't matter where they are in the world, you have called their phone number which is a Canadian number.
I told the same story again, and Rogers insisted that was my fault. Yes, that's my fault, I didn't know Rogers would charge me "roam like home", my biggest fault is choosing Rogers, and I finally corrected myself by moving to Bell. If she has the ability to see who calls her, from India, she could let it ring, then and call them back instead. This ensures the person originally calling is not the one paying. Best to buy local sim when traveling to the certain country if in need of cell service.
Roam Like Home plans cost $7/day for the US ($12/day in 125+ other countries) to let you access your talk, text, and data plan while outside Canada. Rogers also offers Canada+US Share plans letting you travel between the two countries without any additional fees. I'd like to know if a received call needs to be answered for it to trigger or if it will trigger as soon as the phone rings.

Most Rogers customers with an eligible postpaid wireless plan are automatically enrolled in Roam Like HomeTM. Roam Like HomeTM lets you use the talk, text and data included in your monthly plan just like you would at home. Check your destination to make sure it is covered.
Rogers Roam Like Home solutions offer your simplest choice for any Canadian to take your smartphone, plan and phone number with you when you travel. In the past, international roaming costs were prohibitively expensive. Today they can be only a small additional fee. When I go to my email or safari, it says to turn on your cellular data, which is on. I have to factory reset my networks settings and it works again but again only for a tenth of time.
Someone else hopefully has the answer to your question about caller ID... This is already clear on how the MMS service works in the back end; and MMS is ignored for all data usage on smartphones/cellphones this is correct. Voicemail is not a trigger as it is a server end.
Any one have any suggestions to correct this pls? I am here for business and this is disrupting the communication between my clients. We would like to attempt to resolve this issue by modifying some of the settings on your device. To see if the phone calls to Canada will begin to work, please go into the settings of your iPhone - Select Carrier - Turn Off Automatic - Tap any available Carrier. Then, go back to the main Settings and wait for your iPhone to connect to the network. Roam like home is enabled and I can use the internet and receive phone calls, BUT cannot make phone calls to numbers in Canada.
If I had seen that thread, I would have cancelled the RLH before the travel. Need to do some homework before my next travel. Interestingly enough, one month later, Rogers called me and asked why I quit.
May I know which local network are you connected to? I realize that switching to a different carrier manually did not work for you. Is there a way you can test your SIM in another device? Just to identify if this is a device issue or a network one.
That even while roaming is OFF on the device.. Roam Like Home, is a billing based feature not an actual feature for every instance of calls or event. If a user did call forward and went roaming to US, they would be charged Roaming regardless. So I would suggest, don't call forward it, unless someone here in the community, confirms it isn't triggered.
Canada also features some of the most expensive plans in the world. If you don't need to keep the same phone number, you may be able to jump on a daily or monthly plan once you arrive at your destination. Turn off data roaming before hopping on a plane or cruise ships. Once on the plane or on the open ocean, talk, text, and especially data rates can be astronomically expensive. If that happens, you may need to contact your carrier once you get back on land to authorize overage charges just to get service again.
Any cellular company you like to go, all related back to the Big 3. The rep of Rogers kindly suggested disabling RLH during the phone, but I didn't want to have any business with Rogers, then I ported to Bell. I have roaming included in my package so, I don't get an alert. However, you will get a text from Rogers to advise you of roaming and fee...
